Australia Friendship Day (2026)

Sunshine, Culture and Community at Australia Friendship Day
Under perfect blue skies at the Broadwater Parklands, Australia Friendship Day 2026 brought together communities from across the Gold Coast for a vibrant day of celebration, connection and cultural pride.
Hosted by the Filipino Community Council of Queensland and the Gold Coast Filipino Australian Cultural Ensemble, this year's event showcased the strength and diversity of our multicultural community through a lively program of cultural performances, music, community engagement and family-friendly activities. The parklands were filled with colour and energy as people gathered to celebrate culture, reconnect with friends and enjoy a day of community spirit.
One of the highlights of the event was seeing people from many different cultural backgrounds come together in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Community groups, performers, families and visitors shared in the festivities, creating a wonderful atmosphere that reflected the values of friendship, respect, and belonging.
TMC was delighted to be part of the celebrations and to witness the continued growth of this community event. It was fantastic to see so many people enjoying the performances, supporting local cultural groups and embracing the opportunity to learn about and celebrate the diversity that makes our region so unique.
A special thank you goes to the Filipino Community Council of Queensland and the Gold Coast Filipino Australian Cultural Ensemble for their hard work in delivering another successful event. Their dedication to bringing communities together continues to make a meaningful contribution to the multicultural landscape of the Gold Coast.
We were also honoured to receive a beautiful handwoven Kalinga lanyard, with the yellow weaving symbolising joy and celebration during community gatherings. It was a thoughtful gift and a wonderful reflection of the warmth, generosity and cultural pride that were evident throughout the day.
Events like Australia Friendship Day remind us that some of the strongest community connections are built through shared experiences. TMC is proud to support initiatives that celebrate culture, strengthen relationships and create opportunities for people from all backgrounds to come together and thrive.
